I thought it would be a really great idea to have a special giveaway for the procrastinators who read my blog. I told Sue Hooley (who created the Homemaker’s Friend Day Planner and is one of our site sponsors), “Wouldn’t it be cool do to a planner giveaway in January, just for the procrastinators? Just for people who haven’t picked their 2016 Day Planner yet and need a little help getting organized?”
Yes, I know it’s April now. I guess I’m officially a procrastinator, too.
There’s a whole world of people who use (and adore) day planners. People who are paying $50-$75 for their planner and then spending hundreds of dollars on supplies to make it pretty. Planning has become a really trendy hobby!
I’ve told you before that I really like the Homemaker’s Friend planner. It has all the basic features I need and it’s a handy size. Plus it’s only $13.99 instead of $50+! (UPDATE!!! Sue just emailed me and told me it’s on sale for $9.99… and if you get the coupon by following the instructions at the bottom of the page, that makes it just $7.99!!!) You can find a video of me showing off my 2014 Homemaker’s Friend here. The 2016 version is the same layout, but the interior is a pretty light green. I love it!
Amy is someone I met who is an avid planner. She has to be, since she has 4 children! She graciously offered to let me share some pictures of the inside of her planner and how she uses stickers to decorate and be functional. As you can see, she took these pictures in 2014. I just procrastinated in posting them. (Are you sensing a theme here?)
Here’s how Amy decorates her monthly layout, color coding activities for various members of her family. It makes it so easy to see at a glance what everyone is doing! I love her method!
And here’s Amy’s weekly layout. Again, she uses a color code and keeps track of everyone’s comings and goings.
What I love about Amy’s weekly and monthly spreads is that they are so simple and so functional! It feels very do-able, wouldn’t you agree?
