In case you haven’t seen it yet, we’ve got a Giveaway on Facebook this week! This is the time of year where everyone is thinking about Back-to-School and that means it’s lunch-packing time! And who among us doesn’t need a little Lunch-Packing inspiration?
So, I am giving away this cute little vintage cookbook! Now if you happen to be following this blog because you (like us!) are vegan and gluten free, let it be known that this is not the book for you. The recipes are vegetarian (not vegan) and this book was written before gluten freedom took over the world, but there are still plenty of great ideas in this book! First published in 1979 under the title, The Wholefood Lunchbox this is the 1986 version that reappeared under the name The Vegetarian Lunch Box
.
The book begins with an introductory article called, “Lunch: The Neglected Meal” (Now how timeless is that?). Then each chapter has it’s own introductory page full of great tips followed by the actual recipes. Here are the chapter titles:
- New Ways With Sandwiches
- Sunshine Salads
- The Liquid Lunch
- Cook Now, Eat Later
- Hot Snacks for the Housewife
- Sweet Treats
- Lunch Box Baking
- Your Healthy Eating Plan
Intrigued? Head on over to Facebook and enter the Giveaway by clicking on the Giveaway link in the menu below our profile picture. Or click here to be taken directly to the Giveaway page.
In the meantime, if you want some fun lunchtime inspiration, be sure to check out the EasyLunchbox Lunch Gallery. There are thousands of pictures of actual school lunches… and some of those lunch packers are really knocking themselves out! (Don’t worry, you don’t have to look through them all. That would take forever!) Here’s a sampling of some of those lunches to whet your appetite! (Just click on the picture to be taken directly to the Easy Lunchbox Gallery!)
And of course, if you want to purchase the Easy Lunchbox System you can find them on Amazon by clicking here.
